Mary J. Blige talks about mental health in 'My Life' trailer

Amazon Studios released the trailer for the documentary Mary J. Blige's My Life on Tuesday. The film premieres June 25 on Amazon Prime.

My Life was Blige's second album, released in 1994. Blige sung about abuse, addiction and depression. The triple platinum album won the Billboard Music Award for Top R&B album and received a Grammy nomination for Best R&B album.
For the album's 25th anniversary, filmmaker Vanessa Roth captured Blige performing the album live for the first time. Blige also discusses the specific details that inspired the songs. She says the New York housing projects in which she lived felt like a prison.
