Marshfield sets opening for Vandehey Waters, its new aquatic center

MARSHFIELD – Residents will soon have another way to cool off this summer.
The city announced Thursday that the new aquatic center, Vandehey Waters, will open to the public July 23 at 3 p.m. following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m.
The new aquatic center was constructed on the former site of Hefko Pool on South Roddis Avenue. Features of the center include slides, basketball hoops, diving boards, a climbing wall, a current channel, a full concession stand, a game area, family changing rooms and private changing stalls.
The $7 million aquatic center is named in honor of Frank and Patricia Vandehey, after their son Jon's family donated over $1 million to the project. Jon Vandehey is the president and CEO of Mid-State Truck Service in Marshfield.
