Whether you were military brass, enlisted, or a family member, memories of the Vietnam War linger. 
It will be a special time when the "Wall That Heals" - the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica - comes to New Bern’s Lawson Creek Park this week. 
Retired Marine Col. Dave Nelson flew helicopters missions into enemy territory during tours in 1967 and 1970, while enlisted Marine Ralph Aviles rode security on medivac flights and loaded and unloaded the injued and the dead. 
 Both men and their families live in New Bern's Greenbrier community. They saw their share of ghastly war injuries and death.
