Marilyn Monroe and Government Surveillance: A Controversial Story

As I mentioned in my previous article on the death of Marilyn Monroe in August 1962, there is a lot of controversy surrounding the interest that elements of the U.S. government had in Marilyn. And, with that in mind, I thought I would demonstrate the extent to which those same elements kept watch on Marilyn. Of course, the files that have been released into the public domain do not provide us a smoking-gun of the “Marilyn was killed because of what she knew of aliens” type. What the records do show, however, is that several agencies were keeping watch on the Hollywood legend. As is stated at the FBI’s website,
