Marijuana advocates to hand out free joints to vaccinated adults at Union Square for 4/20
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — It's called "Joints for Jabs."
Dana Beal, a longtime legal marijuana activist, will hand out free joints Tuesday in Union Square to adults 21 and over who provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.
“The marijuana community supports the science behind the COVID vaccine and what better way to encourage cannabis users to get vaccinated than to give out free pot,” Beal said in a statement to PIX11.
The event marks 4/20, unofficially known as Cannabis Day, and supports ongoing vaccination efforts.
Beal tells the New York Post that he'll have a table set up at the park from 11 a.m. until 4:20 p.m.
