Amanda Schall and Lawrence Green moved to Oak Island from Louisiana a little more than two years ago. Since then, the pair have been bringing some Cajun flavor to the beach community.
For Green, it’s through his position as chef at Shagger Jacks, 8004 E. Oak Island Dr. For Schall, it’s as a pastry chef. One who has been busy making king cakes in recent weeks.
“I moved to Louisiana right after high school,” Schall said. “I was interested in the culinary industry and knew that New Orleans was a good place to be for food.”
She eventually attended culinary school in Baton Rouge and met Green, a Louisiana native.
