Mango growers in Hangal taluk are experiencing a significant decline in yield this season, severely impacted by the drought. The Hangal mango varieties, particularly the Alphonso, Pairi, Ratnapuri, Totapuri, Benisha, Nati, Mallika and Sindhura are known for their delicious taste and are mostly exported abroad. However, this year, growers have harvested only 30% of the usual yield. Additionally, mango farms are also facing diseases. This has impacted the yield of mangoes, leading to a significant decline this year, which is a big worry for the mango growers.
