MANDAUE City Mayor Jonas Cortes has tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
In his Facebook post, Cortes said he experienced Covid-19 symptoms on April 4, 2021, prompting him to get an RT-PCR test, and the result came out positive on April 5.
Despite him testing positive for the virus, Cortes said the City Government’s services will continue.
He also encouraged the public to continue to follow minimum health protocols.
"Tabangi ko sa pag-ampo sa labawng makagagahom nga makarecover ta aning mao nga sakit para makabalik na sad ta sa panerbisyo diha ninyo (Please help me pray for my recovery so that I can go back to serving you)," he said.
