CEBU CITY – Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes has tested positive for COVID-19.
Cortes said he found out that he was COVID-19 positive after he underwent Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test.
“Because of the symptoms I was feeling, I decided to undergo RT-PCR test,” Cortes said in a Facebook post Monday.
The mayor has been placed under isolation and was monitored for having mild symptoms.
Cortes said services in the city will continue while he is recuperating from the disease.
“Let us continue observing health protocols because we know that the COVID is still very much around,” Cortes said.
