Prosecution barrister, James Wing told Southampton Crown Court on Thursday how Soan formerly of Botley Road, Southampton, called the woman repeatedly leaving about 70 messages left on her phone between August and October.
“Habitually drunk” these messages included threats to kill her, other people - he even warned that the police would not stop him.
Mr Wing told how during an incident in July, Soan had got up right into the woman’s face and threatened her, again claiming he was going to kill himself.
A victim impact statement read out in court said how the woman now struggles to sleep, and how her home does not feel safe.
