Man Who ‘Tried Something New’ In Robbing Credit Union Sentenced to 14 Years in Prison

APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Appleton man has been sentenced to federal prison for robbing a credit union two years ago.
Matthew Krueger, U.S. Attorney for Wisconsin’s eastern district, says Xengxai Yang, 21, was sentenced Thursday to 14 years in prison. He was found guilty in October of Armed Bank Robbery, Brandishing a Short-Barreled Rifle During a Crime of Violence and Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle.
According to court records, Yang entered a credit union on Appleton’s west side in March of 2019.
