Police say the man has suffered serious injuries. The area has been closed off.

VERNON, Conn. — Vernon Police are investigating a shooting that left one person in critical condition. The shooting occurred at the Park West Apartments at 4:15 pm Tuesday.
Witnesses to the incident say the victim appeared to be taken off guard.
"He said he saw the guy standing in a puddle of blood," said Anthony Dzen.
Dzen recalls customers who witnessed the shooting coming into the Subway he works at on Terrace Drive. They too believe the suspects knew the victim.
