Man sentenced to probation for involvement in faked abduction of Hannah Potts

PRINCETON, Ind. — A man charged in connection with an abduction hoax was found guilty of false informing and will serve almost nine months of probation, according to a judgment from the Gibson County Superior Court Monday.
Joshua Thomas, 45, of Washington, Indiana, faced one misdemeanor count of false informing, to which he pleaded guilty. 
A judge ordered Thomas to serve 270 days in jail, suspended to probation.

Thomas was charged in connection with helping Hannah Potts, 24, fake her own kidnapping. Potts had told police she'd done it as research for a manuscript she was writing.
