16 WAPT'S MARCUS HUNTER WAS IN THE COURTROOM... THURSDAY HERE AT THE MADISON COUNTY COURTHOUSE JUDGE.... SENTENCE EDGAR EGBERT TO SIX CONSECUTIVE 35 YEAR SENTENCES ON SIX COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER. "I THINK THE JUDGE DID THE ONLY THING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE IN THIS SITUATION TO MAKE SURE THAT THAT MAN NEVER GOES FREE" EGBERT PLED GUILTY TO ALL SIX CHARGES. DEPUTY BRAD SULLIVAN WHO WAS NOT THE ONLY OFFICER INJURED THAT DAY. TOOK THE STAND TO GIVE AN IMPACT STATEMENT, IN IT HE SAID WHILE EGBERT PLED GUILTY TO SIX COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER. AFTER THE JUDGE HANDED DOWN HIS SENTENCE SULLIVAN SPOKE TO THE MEDIA FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE HE WAS SHOT. "THE DEPUTIES THAT WERE OUT THERE ON THE ROAD WITH ME THAT DAY SEEN IT HAPPEN TO ME, I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THEIR SHOES AND I KNOW THEY ARE GOING THROUGH A HARD TIME AND THE WAY I AM GLAD THAT IT HAPPENED TO ME AND NOT THEM, I KNOW THAT THEY SIT BACK AND WISH IT HAPPENED TO THEM AND NOT ME. BUT I AM GLAD TO BE WHERE I AM AT TODAY, I AM GLAD I AM HERE, GLAD I WAS ABLE TO GET THROUGH IT. I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYBODY AND NOT JUST IN MISSISSIPPI BUT NATIONWIDE, ALL THE PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS THAT HAVE WENT OUT TO ME." "IT IS TOUGH, AS AN ADMINISTRATOR, I TELL YOU IT IS SOMETHING YOU NEVER WANT TO GO THROUGH, WATCHING THESE GUYS SUFFER THE WAY THAT THEY DID AND SEEING NOW THE CLOSURE IN THEIR EYES AND BEING ABLE TO WATCH THEM MOVE FORWARD FROM THIS POINT IS SOMETHING THAT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING" SO AGAIN EDGAR EGBERT WAS SENTENCE TO SIX CONSECUTIVE 35 YEAR SENTENCES. THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY DROPPED THE FELONY FLEEING AND KIDNAPPING CHARGES BECAUSE THE VICTIM O
