Stearns County Jail
(KNSI) – One of three men accused in the fatal stabbing of a man at the Red Carpet Nightclub has been sentenced.
29-year-old Lawrence Michael Johnson was convicted in October of one count of second-degree murder with intent without premeditation and one count of second-degree unintentional murder while committing a felony, two counts of fifth-degree assault. He was sentenced to just over 34 years in prison for the stabbing death of 29-year-old Unity McGill in December of 2019.
Lawrence Johnson’s brother, 28-year-old Christopher Lamar Johnson, was found guilty of second-degree murder in a bench trial earlier this month.
Police say Lawrence and his brother Christopher Johnson and another man, Bryant Stephenson, stabbed McGill outside the Red Carpet after an alleged fight inside the club. McGill was rushed to the St. Cloud Hospital, where he died.
