WARREN – A man who was revived from an apparent drug overdose while awaiting sentencing last week on burglary charges was sentenced today to nine months behind bars, according to court and jail records.
Chad Decost, 34, Warren, pleaded guilty in April to burglary and possessing criminal tools in connection to a 2019 burglary of firearms from a Warren Township home, according to court records. Two counts of grand theft were dismissed as part of the plea deal, according to prosecutors.
He was scheduled to be sentenced May 4, but a deputy found him “completely unconscious” outside of the courtroom, according to a sheriff’s report. The man was revived with two doses of Narcan and transported to St. Joseph Warren Hospital for treatment.
