LA MESA —
A man who claimed to have a concealed gun robbed the employees of a La Mesa Denny’s on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The masked man approached a clerk shortly after 1 p.m. at the chain diner on Alvarado Road off 70th Street and Lake Murray Boulevard, announced that he was armed and demanded cash from the register, according to police.
After the employee handed over an undisclosed amount of money, the robber left the business, got into a red Dodge Charger, license number 5YVT249, and headed north on the Lake Murray Boulevard bridge over Interstate 8, then west on I-8 into San Diego, Lt. Greg Runge said in a news release.
