A 29-year-old man facing several criminal charges following a police standoff in Lundbreck last October remains in custody while he waits to have a bail hearing.
Shaine William Smith, who is in custody at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre, was represented by Calgary lawyer Robin McIntyre during a brief hearing Tuesday in Lethbridge provincial court. The matter was simply adjourned, however, until Jan. 19 to allow the accused time to retain his lawyer.
Smith was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, drug possession, resist/obstruct a peace officer, possession of stolen property and possession of break-in instruments.
