A 16-year-old boy is in the hospital with serious injuries Thursday after being hit by a CSX freight train at McMullen Booth Road near State Road 590 in Pinellas County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At 4:12 p.m. Thursday the teen was walking on railroad tracks just west of McMullen Booth Road, adjacent to the intersection at State Road 590. Troopers said the boy did not see the westbound train approaching and was struck.
