Man from Gray pleads no contest to child sex crimes
A man from Gray accused of sexually abusing a child avoided jail time after pleading no contest to a lesser charge.
Sandy Dye, 46, pleaded no contest June 22 to indecent behavior with a juvenile, according to court records. He was originally charged with aggravated crimes against nature.
After Dye entered his negotiated plea, he was given a suspended sentence seven-year sentence and was ordered to serve three years of supervised probation and pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs.
As part of his plea agreement, Dye must have no contact with the victim and register as a sex offender, court records show.
