A lot of us have a tough time eating salad on the regular . . . but imagine tossing a venomous snake into the mix!
Alex White thought the slithering critter in his plastic-wrapped lettuce was a worm . . . you know, until a snake tongue flicked out. “I kind of completely freaked out when I saw this little tongue come out of its mouth and start flicking around,” says Alex. “I realized it was a snake because worms don’t have tongues.” Worse than that? It was
actually a venomous pale-headed snake. Officials say it made a 540-mile journey to the Sydney Aldi from a packing plant in the Australian city of Toowoomba . . . and the refrigerated truck kept it sleeping until Alex got it home. A wildlife rescue organization retrieved the thing and now Aldi is investigating.
