A Wichita man who investigators say attacked a woman at Cheney Reservoir last week and then shot her young child as she attempted to drive away was charged with a dozen felony counts, including six counts of attempted murder.
During the harrowing event that began in Wichita the morning of July 19, the woman told law enforcement, her estranged boyfriend attempted to stab her, drown her, set her on fire and then shoot at her.
The suspect, Kamden Joe Campos, 22, showed up at the home of the victim's mother, in Wichita, where the victim was staying after the two had split up some 1½ weeks earlier.
