Man charged after accidentally shooting teen in Flint, prosecutor says

FLINT, MI -- A man was trying to pull a shotgun away from a 16-year-old when the man accidentally pulled the trigger over the weekend, killing the teen, according to the Genesee County Prosecutor.
Flint Police responded around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3 in reference to a shooting in the 2900 block of Henry Street, between Douglas Avenue and Branch Road.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said the 16-year-old was attempting to take his own life with the gun when the shooting took place.
The teen was located and brought to Hurley Medical Center and listed in critical condition, according to prior reporting. He was later pronounced deceased.
