Tempe police detectives arrested a man on Wednesday suspected of stabbing and killing former co-worker Ryan Portscheller in a business parking lot near Elliot and Kyrene roads on June 22.
David Cordero, 21, was found in Glendale and arrested on suspicion of first-degree premeditated murder in the death of 41-year-old Portscheller and booked into a Maricopa County jail, according to court documents and an email from Sgt. Steven Carbajal, a Tempe police spokesperson.
Police received a 911 call sometime after 3:30 a.m. on June 22 from a garbage truck driver reporting a dead body near the location. Officers found a man lying in the parking lot near the business's dock area, according to court documents.
