A man had to be airlifted Wednesday after driving his truck off Gates Pass Road near the lookout point in Tucson Mountain Park.
Video from the Tucson Fire Department showed the truck on its side hundreds of feet downhill from the road in an area densely filled with cactuses and brush.
The Tucson Fire Department worked with the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the Northwest Fire District to safely airlift the driver out of the car near Gates Pass Road.
A Sheriff's Department helicopter airlifted the man to a nearby road where an ambulance transported him to a local hospital for further evaluation. The rescue operation took about two hours, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
