Federal authorities say a man accused of fatally shooting 7-year-old Jaslyn Adams outside a Chicago McDonald’s on April 18 fled Illinois to avoid prosecution, newly unsealed court documents show.
A criminal complaint filed on April 29 that was unsealed on Wednesday revealed that authorities are searching for 21-year-old Devontay Anderson in connection with the shooting of Adams and her father. An arrest warrant was issued for Anderson on April 26 after he was charged with first-degree murder, though authorities have not been able to locate and arrest him.
The complaint also says that beginning on April 26, police received a GPS notification from a Facebook account associated with Anderson, placing his potential location in Miami, Florida.
