A 30-year-old passenger has died after a ute he was travelling in crashed into floodwaters. 
The man was trapped in the backseat of the vehicle after it lost control close to the Diddillibah disability support facility in the Sunshine Coast on December 14.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died on Friday.

The driver, 21, and another 19-year-old passenger were able to escape before the ute submerged in the water. 
'The driver broke a window and was able to extricate the rear passenger from the vehicle, but the vehicle had been submerged for some time,' Nambour Forensic Crash Unit officer-in-charge Sergeant Sherryn Klump said, according to the Sunshine Coast Daily.
