Malcolm Lloyd Dubber revisits the story of naval officer, lieutenant commander Ewan Jones and nurse Hazel Almonde in his latest publication titled “Signal from Malta” (published by AuthorHouse UK).
A sequel to “Return to Malta,” this book finds the romance between Ewan and Hazel caught up in the closing days of World War II. Now a married couple, Ewan and Hazel are involved in naval intelligence operations to capture for escaping Nazis. Hazel is assigned to lead a party of nurses to Italy, while Ewan patrols the Albanian coast in search of a German SS Panzer division. Ironically, the Nazis have enlisted help from the Russian secret police (NKVD) in exchange for weapons communist insurgents in the Balkans. A vengeful SS Officer abducts the group of nurses and what follows is a dramatic rescue.
