Maine man sentenced for shooting that wounded a 7-year-old girl

Man arrested in connection to drive-by shooting
A man from Mercer was sentenced to eight years in prison Wednesday for a drive-by shooting that left a 7-year-old girl in the hospital.
Gavin Loabe, 19, pleaded guilty last month to felony assault. He had previously been charged with attempted murder, but that charge was later dropped.Sign up for our Newsletters
In court, attorneys said Loabe shot the home in February of 2020 because he mistakenly thought someone else lived there.
Investigators say Emmaleeah Frost was in her bedroom eating a snack when she was shot.
