Main Street’s infrastructure overhaul is expected to begin on Monday, April 5. Temporary traffic lights — such as those seen above on Tuesday, March 30 — have been set up at the corners of Main Street and Olympic Drive and Saranac Avenue and Wesvalley Road. During the work, Main Street will be open to one-way traffic, going toward Saranac Avenue from the post office. LAKE PLACID — Main Street’s infrastructure overhaul is expected to begin on Monday, April 5.
State Department of Transportation electronic signs warn motorists coming into Lake Placid about the upcoming road work. Detour signs are up and covered in black plastic, ready to be unveiled. And temporary traffic lights have been set up at the corners of Main Street and Olympic Drive and Saranac Avenue and Wesvalley Road. During the work, Main Street will be open to one-way traffic, going toward Saranac Avenue from the post office.
