There's no need to check the mailbox Thursday.
A Canada Post spokesperson says they found out late Wednesday the staff member at the Almon Street mail processing plant had tested positive for COVID-19.
"We will be providing some services today in Halifax, but mail delivery has been suspended for the day," said an emailed statement from Phil Legault.
"We have followed the guidance of public health in informing employees, supporting contact tracing and conducting a sanitization of the facility," he added
The Crown corporation hopes to resume delivery Friday and plans to put in "contingency plans over the weekend to minimize the impact on delivery services to our customers."
