An earthquake of magnitude 3.3 occurred only 14 minutes ago 51 miles south of Carlsbad, Texas, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 4.4 miles beneath the epicenter near Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico, USA, early afternoon on Tuesday 11 May 2021 at 2:07 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.4.
