An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred only 19 minutes ago 44 miles south of Sand Point, Alaska, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10.1 miles beneath the epicenter near Sand Point, Aleutians East, Alaska, USA, in the afternoon on Thursday 6 May 2021 at 4:49 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.1 earthquake as well.
