PARIS, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Lyon climbed to the top of the Ligue 1 table with a convincing 4-1 win at Nice on Saturday, while fellow title contender Marseille slowed its pace after being held by bottom-half side Stade Reims 1-1 at home.
The win for Rudi Garcia's side extended its unbeaten run to 13 games, meanwhile clinching the top spot temporarily, one point ahead of Lille, who hosts defending champion Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
Dutch international Memphis Depay converted a spot-kick in the 32nd minute to put Lyon in front after Tino Kadewere was brought down in the area. Kadewere doubled Lyon's lead seven minutes later, capitalizing on a careless pass by Nice's defense to finish calmly.
