Lush leadership rejects union despite supporting them for other brands

Though the first Lush store was opened in Poole, England in 1995, the company's offices, factory, and distribution centers are in Vancouver and Toronto. While these centers support more than 250 retail stores across North America, the current unionizing drive is focusing on the offices and manufacturing centers in Toronto and does not include retail workers.
The Lush union's goal is to get 65% of support from an eligible group of almost 1,400 employees. Only 40% is necessary to apply for a vote with the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) which oversees union activity in Canada. Majority support in this private ballot vote would be necessary for union certification.
