CLOSED THE SITE FOR TWO DAYS THIS WEEK. REPORTER: LAST WEEK THIS VACCINATION SITE SAW LONG WAITS OUTSIDE BECAUSE THEY HAD TO DEAL WITH THE RESCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS, ICE AND SNOW IN THE PARKING LOT, AND WATER GETTING DRAGGED INTO THE ARENA. WITH THE FORECAST IMPROVING OFFICIALS DO NOT SEE LONG WAITS NEXT WEEK. THIS WAS THE LONG LINE OUTSIDE BROADBENT ARENA ON FEBRUARY 12, AFTER A WINTER STORM CANCELED APPOINTMENTS EARLIER THAT WEEK. LOUVAX WAS CLOSED TWO DAYS THIS WEEK. TO HELP PREVENT LONG LINES FROM RETURNING, THE VACCINATION SITE WILL BE OPEN SATURDAY. MAYOR FISCHER: WE ARE MAKING IT UP DAY BY DAY AND TOMORROW WE ARE HOLDING A SPECIAL SESSION ON SATURDAY FOR SECOND DOSE APPOINTMENTS ONLY. I WANT TO EMPHASIZE THIS FACILITY IS FOR APPOINTMENTS ONLY. REPORTER: 1,000 APPOINTMENTS ARE SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY. MAYOR FISCHER: IT CAN GO ANYWHERE FROM FOUR DAYS EARLY TO TWO WEEKS AFTER THE 28TH DAY FOR THE MODERNA VACCINE. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY DAY -- ANYONE WHO HAS TO MISS THEIR SECOND DOSE OR GET AN APPLICATION OF THE SECOND DOSE BECAUSE OF RESCHEDULING FROM SNOWSTORMS. REPORTER: WARMING TEMPERATURES SHOULD HELP CLEAR THE SNOW AND ICE OUT IN THE PARKING LOT. STEPHON: -- WE EXPECT TO BE BACK AT NORMAL OPERATIONS NEXT WEEK, LOOKING FORWARD TO WARMER WEATHER.
