A LORRY hit the wall of Grade II-listed church on Portland - leading to a plea from its vicar for drivers to be more careful on the island's roads.
The crash happened just a day after a TX Maxx lorry caused chaos in Weymouth town centre when it hit a cafe building, forcing a road closure and leading to heavy traffic.
Tim Gomm, vicar at All Saints Church, in Easton, said the church's entrance wall was damaged when it was hit by a lorry yesterday morning.
Eyewitness Gemma Harris, who lives on Portland, said: "It was around 8.30am, the lorry driver reversed in the access road to All Saints Church.
