Taliaferro played for the Ravens for three seasons, featuring in 19 games and rushing for 339 yards and five touchdowns. He was a fourth-round draft pick in 2014 after a standout career at Coastal Carolina.
Taliaferro is the all-time single-season rushing leader for the Chanticleers, producing 1,729 yards as a senior. He earned Big South Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2013.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lorenzo Taliaferro,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. “Lorenzo was a kind, smart, respectful and determined young man — someone always committed to his teammates and well-liked by everyone in our organization. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Lorenzo’s family. May he rest in peace.”
