Looking back on Town Meeting Day in Charlotte

Town Meeting Day a well-attended, paragon of participatory democracy in Vermont, has suffered this year because of COVID-19 bans on gathering — but was the tradition headed out before the pandemic?
Charlotte has an article to move Town Meeting Day to the first Saturday in March, an attempt to increase participation in hopes of returning to the good old days of town meeting.
Selectboard chair Matt Krasnow has childhood memories of Town Meeting Day when it was a community event centered around discussion of what townspeople wanted to do with school issues, town issues and the lunch in-between.
