Longview man who killed âLavender Doe,â second woman, gets 50 years in prison

LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) -- Joseph Burnette pleaded guilty to the murders of two women in a Longview court. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Tuesday.
Burnette is accused of the 2006 murder of the then-unidentified woman dubbed âLavender Doeâ, who was identified in 2018 as Dana Dodd of Jacksonville. He is also accused of the 2018 killing of Felisha Pearson of Longview.
