LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Police Department issued 65 citations during its recent Memorial Day Click It or Ticket enforcement period, the department said.
"Through the Memorial Day enforcement campaign, we helped make Illinois roads safer
and spread the word that seat belts save lives," police said. According to a release from the department, Illinois' 2020 seat belt compliance rate was 94.6 percent, but unbelted occupants still account for over half of those killed in crashes.
