FAIRMONT — As the country seemingly begins to see progress in combating COVID-19, local efforts are slowly but surely underway. Community Health sanitarian Tim Langer of Community Health and Human Services of Faribault and Martin Counties recently shared that patience is a virtue when it comes to receiving the vaccine.
Langer has also noted that Human Services would periodically provide updates on local efforts. In keeping with that effort, Langer shared some information from Human Services.
As of Jan. 30, 2021, 1,307 individuals in Martin County have received at least their first vaccination for COVID-19. 6.5 percent of the population has received at least one dose. 903 individuals in Faribault County have received at least their first vaccination for COVID-19. 6.5 percent of the population has received at least one dose. January 26, one day ahead of schedule. All 100 doses were distributed to individuals identified in priority group 1A within 72 hours as directed by the Minnesota Department of Health. All doses were in arms by 4 p.m. on January 29.
