A Redding woman charged with abusing 65 goats is appealing a judge’s decision to halt her sentencing. Nancy Burton, whose case was initially set for accelerated rehabilitation, will now return to Danbury Superior Court on June 24. That after the judge vacated the proposed sentence after neighbors and others requested a chance to voice their concerns. Prosecutors argue that statutorily recognized victims were not properly notified. Burton, a disbarred attorney, faces multiple charges, including 65 counts of animal cruelty.
