The new UCP curriculum has been marred with controversy this past week.
Education Minister Adriana LaGrange unveiled plans for a new draft curriculum for K-6 students, which would see an increased focus on financial literacy, sexual consent and European history, including expectations around memorizing lists of facts, dates, and names.

Teachers in select classrooms will start teaching some of that curriculum as soon as September, but the majority were not part of designing it.
