A plan to redevelop the Sioux Steel campus is revving back up following pandemic delays, and it means the Sioux Falls City Council will need to re-approve a tax break built into the project.
The project, in the works since 2019, was supposed to begin construction in late 2020 and included a hotel and convention center, a nine-story office tower and a parking ramp with more than 900 spaces.
COVID-19 delayed those plans, but Lloyd Companies officials are hoping to break ground on the parking ramp and office tower this summer.
But before they start, the group is asking the council to dissolve the tax increment finance district they approved in February 2020 and then approve a new one.
