LLANDRINDOD Wells Town Council’s search for a new councillor continues as they seek to fill a void in the town’s east ward.
The search has become somewhat of a saga over the last year – not helped by the coronavirus pandemic, as town life across Mid Wales has become less active and monthly meetings have moved online.
A position on the council became available last June after Allan Curtis’ resignation, which was subsequently filled by Jill Shaw. Since then, Lindsay Ward has stepped down with the council experiencing difficulty finding a replacement due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The vacancy is being readvertised via co-option as the electors have not called for an election within the required time and therefore the town council is permitted to co-opt.
