Maharashtra floods LIVE: 129 dead; Army deploys 15 rescue teams; IMD issues 'red alert' for Satara
The death toll due to rain-related incidents in Maharashtra has climbed to 136. Several people have died as heavy downpour led to multiple landslides in the state over the past two days. Other than the casualties, 84,452 people under the Pune division were shifted to safer places on Friday as rain continued to wreak havoc across the state. The Army has launched `Operation Varsha 21' for flood relief and rescue work in the state and has deployed a total of 15 relief and rescue teams comprising troops from the Aundh Military Station and Bombay Engineer Group based in affected areas of Pune.
