Littleton residents resist housing development
December 20, 2020LITTLETON — Despite rising COVID numbers, a significant number of residents attended last week's Littleton Select Board meeting at the Opera House to voice concern about a potential housing development. Many felt officials were moving too fast on a property that had remained dormant for 25 years.
Earlier this month, town officials closed a two-week RFP (Request for Proposals) process on the 103-acre Eaton property, located north of Apthorp Commons. Although the original purchase of the lot in 1995 for $113,000 required voter approval by warrant article, legal advisers said the Select Board didn't need to repeat the process for a sale.
