Race Company director David Fitzmaurice
The Company say all profits derived from hosting its race meetings should be tax-free to boost reinvestment in racecourse infrastructure and preserve the future of what is a valuable meeting to Listowel and the wider North Kerry economy.
"We have a chance, and we know it is a gamble. We're a non-profit organisation, and any money we get goes straight back into the track. If we must pay back loans, you must be making money, and you can't pay them back if you're not making money" said Vice Chairman of Listowel Race Company, David Fitzmaurice.
