Watching the weather is up and running more than 40,000 kilometers above the earth. Officials with the utility in southwestern japan are taking steps towards restarting a Nuclear Power plant. Workers have been loading fuel into one of the reactors. The plant will be the first to restart since the government announced new regulations after the 2011 fukushima disaster. Officials with kyushu power plant in sendai says workers are used cranes to transfer fuel into the reactor. It has been without fuel for two and a half years. The fuel rod units are being stored in a pool next to the building that houses the reactor. Workers will spend four days transferring them into the reactor one by one. The officials will rotate workers so the operation can continue around the clock. And the fuel is being kept underwater to contain the radiation. We have been monitoring the very unusually warm weather that has been taking ahold of the western portions of north america and extends all the way into canada into British Columbia, and also saskatchewan saskatchewan. It is causing problems when it comes to forest fires. Let me show you some of the video. You can see whats happening. The skies are being lit up with flames and smoke because of hundreds of forest fires burning parts of these locations forcing 13,000 people to evacuate. 180 fires are burning at the present moment including 18 major ones just in British Columbia alone. Hot and dry weather fueling this extreme fire season authorities are saying more than 1,000 soldiers are deployed to put out the fire. You can see the smoke and haze all in place on monday. Now, on top of that though there is suspicion of a criminal element in this where arson may be a culprit in some of these fires. But certainly the weather situation is not helping out when it comes to limiting the fires because High Pressure is keeping the area hot and dry. Not much in terms of rain in the forecast. So were not expecting any real relief as we progress through the next 24 hours. This is going to be on issue for the firefighters because there is no real help. Again, like i mentioned, its been a particularly hot and dry season thats really fueling these forest fires. We move further down to the south in the United States, and were keeping our eye on a could front. Thats providing areas of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. The eastern half of the United States and canada seeing warm temperatures and thunderstorms from toronto in chicago. Upper 20s for toronto and new york city. So definitely a tale of two very different weather scenarios in north america as we go through the day. Now, i want to take us over to the western pacific. Weve been tracking these systems. We have a severe Tropical Storm named linfa. Gusts up to 126. Its a very slow mover. The track of the system has shifted a bit toward the west. And so hopefully that means a little bit less in terms of the core heavy intense rainfall for taiwan. But still looking at the possibility for the southern pargs of the island to deal with heavy rainfall getting close to 180 millimeters of rainfall the next three days or so. Currently moving slowly. We move to the east and have a strong typhoon named chanhom gusting to 180. Pressure down to 965. Really packing more of a punch now and still setting its sights for the southeastern coast of Mainland China as we go into the weekend already saturated with rain. This is not good news for the region. Nanka is a very strong typhoon further back to the east maybe bringing another problematic situation for the islands later on this week. It is expected to make a hard turn toward the north by the weekend. Well keep a close eye on this system because its going to be interesting to see where this particular system will be going.
